I'm looking for more contributions to MEW from new authors. I also have an increasing need for articles that are no more than a page long.
Putting the two together, it's the ideal opportunity for you to cut your teeth on something that's a bit more involved than a readers' tip, but still possible to put together in an evening.
The topic should be of interest to fellow readers, but for short articles I'm willing to consider specialist or 'out of the mainstream' subjects.
I'm happy to receive such articles 'on spec', but if you want feedback first, feel free to run an idea past me.
As a guide, a full page article might be 500 words long and accompanied by three or four photographs, or a photo or two and a small drawing.
A very short article would be around 200 words with one or two pictures.
I would also prefer such articles to be accompanied by an author photo, which we will use if there is space. This can be a 'mugshot', but a picture of you in the workshop or doing something (legal and decent!) is OK too.
I can't promise when such contributions will appear, as they are generally fitted in around longer articles, but I do have a constant need for such content.
Submissions can be emailed to me at neil.wyatt@mytimemedia.com
Full guidelines for contributors are HERE
I'm also interested in longer articles, but please contact me first with your ideas.
