Standing on bare concrete is unpleasant. The 'luxury' of an insulated floor cannot be over estimated in my opinion.

My floor in a hobby workshop that is a converted garage with a concrete base and has lasted over 12 years without any modification starts with a damp-proof membrane, then a basic framework of 2" x 2" battens giving 4' x 2' pockets that are filled with polystyrene slabs 2" thick. This is covered with 3/4" flooring grade chipboard and finally a layer of industrial grade sheet vinyl.

It takes the weight of my milling machine which weighs in at over a tonne and big lathe at 700 kgs or so without any problems. It is easy to clean with a sweep and a mop every now and then, but the biggest benefit is the comfort when standing on it.
