As we used to say. When a 747 landed at at Mascot and the engines were shut down, the only whining one heard was from the poms.

"at at Mascot" what's that then?

        > Both explanations given above for A1 , I had considered.

A1 'Peppercorn' Locomotive, as in Tornado, famous model at 12":1' scale, although not accurate enough to win a gold medal

Pram plan in the Hobby's annual as well, I was thinking of making one in metal to throw my own toys out of .

Last time I went to that dammed place (OZ), was in a 707, but by far the best 707 was the one that brought me home.

                  Cheers Derek.

P.S. is that grumpy enough for this forum ?????

Hi Neil, anticipating your proposal of a mirror image of an A1 with some eager enthusiasm, below is my atist's impression of what it might look like. (More like artistic licence me thinks) cheeky

I have noted that threads of technical merit, shall we say, where a sensible question is asked and a string of sensible answers and suggestions follows, is, in the main, contributed to by a different set of people than those that prefer to contribute to the rights and wrongs of the new look website, the social media question and the quality of the special issue.

Thanks Neil for yet another sensible post above.

                      Just my observations …

                      Great psychology Diane.

John is that a complaint abot complaining?

The silver cross pram is still pressed in the UK down brighouse in yorkshire, i visited a company recently who had a workshop full of large old presses, you know the ones you used to find in industry which are 3 floors high every component is pressed there and they are still made in the UK

It seems complaining is the order of the week a chap i follow pointed out some more negativity on twitter last night he runs a company called the Bicycle Academy basically teaching people to build bicycles, again and teaching them the right skills and the right way of doing things.

Again a very nice gentleman organizes a show for handbuilt bicycles and is getting flak for moving the venue ,

I don't think a lot of people realize it takes a lot of work for any outlet and people give up precious time to do this paid or otherwise

Its all to easy to complain

                              Mascot Airport in Sydney Australia.

                              Moaning Poms?

At the end of WW2, an Australian military pilot serving with the RAF in the UK, found it almost impossible to get home. So he bought a Halifax on £1 and take it away for scrap deal , stripped out the armaments installed some seats. Then advertised in the Times for Australians also wanting to get back home willing to share the fuel etc. The flight back took three weeks or so. On final approach into Mascot, he was refused permission to land…

It's not the criminals they shipped out that are the problem, it's the screws that went with them. An Aussie told me.
