Having been asked to make a "flute tuner", or rather repair a borken one by a friend. I needed to attach a cork plug to one end of it. The tuner is ( I suspect) rosewood and about 40 years old! I used "mopane" from Zimbabwe as the grain match is good.
Then, being masochistic, decided to make a duplicate in African Blackwood. All fine until came to attach the cork to it. In the end I;ve used Araldite ( slow setting as I know I can rely on it). The original looks like it may have a pin or stiff rod through it's centre to reinforce the cork.
Anyone found any better adhesives for cork? Didn't want to use contact adhesive as It MUST be central on the base and it took quite a while to get the diameters right.

I will try and put photo's up tomorrow.
