Come on Terry get your finger out with these drawing articles and standards.

Whilst you have been faffing about in Vol 176 page 44, someone has posted that the thread on an ER32 collet nut is M40 x 1 when in fact it’s M40 x 1.5.

Britain might not believe in God, but it believes 100% in religious holidays.

Only reason I changed from Atheist to Agnostic was so I didn’t loose the holidays, mind you I still can’t work out why that dipstick can’t get married on a Saturday like everyone else or at least on Monday, May 1st which is already a holiday and save the country shed loads of money.

I mean he’s been stuffing it for 8 years, three days isn’t going to make much difference.

And while Terry’s at it he could do with having a look at the 25cc 4-stroke drawings in ME 4402.

Valve stems are 3.2mm dia but the guides are 3.18 bore, and valve caps 3.17mm, think this will give sticky valves Still not to worry the valve guides are an interferance fit in the head even though they are shown as 4.76mm into a 4.8mm hole

Oh and the size of the tapped holes for the rocker pedestal, inlet and exhaust are missing from the cyl head dwg and no sign atall of the spark plug hole

This is why I (blowlamp) commented that dxf files should be made available on this website

After all, it’s a bit hard to draw a piston of larger diameter than it’s bore and still have it make sense on screen in a CAD program, isn’t it?

Maybe they are armchain engineers who prefer filling in surveys than actually making something

Just one other point, 41 people may be happy with the drawings as thats still the majority of the 80 received

                          Hi Graham
Have you filled the survey in yet?
                          Please do so.
I am sure it will be interesting or do you just like criticising?
                          regards David

                            Hi There
                            25CC engine
I checked the drawings against the originals and they were correct.
I did not realise the originals had different conflicting dimensions on them as I did not check for this as I have not come across the problem before.
Obviously I will keep an eye on this.
                            regards David

                              Oh dear,
The number of times I`ve heard that as an excuse. When I was taught TD more years ago than I can remember, our teacher had a saying “dimensions dimensions” In those days you`d get a clip round yer lug ole if they were missing or wrong.
Though drawings for production are supposed to be checked & countersigned (at least they used to be) we still found errors in them. If they were our own draughtsmen we could go & take the p but if they were other manufacturers the hoops to jump through were many & long drawn out.

Terry, you`ve got my vote mate your article is needed
