I got this with my Harrison m300 but have never used it

Seems to be a backplate for a camlock chuck.

It’s a catchplate. Provides the means to drive work via pegs and clamps when turning between centres. I have an identical one, but less rusty, for my M300.

I agree with Gep, the raised spigot looks like a chuck location, catch plates usually have a slot for the bent leg of some styles of drive dogs and a plain face and much less material thickness for the plate. It does not mean you can’t use one of these for a catch plate, just that it is not its primary purpose.

What Andrew says. The two large holes are where Harrison put them and the thickness is correct. Looks like a previous owner butchered it at some time to use as a backplate hence the spigit and 4 additional holes. You can see what it originally looked like here
