I have just obtained the part build. Any ideas of what it is and who designed it?

5″ LBSC speedy built to look like a class 4 tank. Did you buy it from Steam workshop?

There is a lot about a Speedy on it (cylinders and valve gear frames in particular) but the Speedy is a 5” gauge 0-6-0 pannier tank. The side tanks look as if they are for a GWR Prairie tank or even an SR heavy shunting engine.

I think it is a freelance design.

I think I am right in believing that you have the boiler (perhaps sitting behind the loco in the picture). If so, you should also have a boiler certificate and some other literature. These should give you some information about the loco’s history. The boiler should be stamped with its own unique number that will be on record at one of the Federations.

My wild guess would be a 3 1/2″ Martin Evans 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive “Jubilee”

              I stand to be corrected

Link to the photo seems to be missing/disappeared.

Seems to work in Micro$oft (fall off the) edge though. 🙁

It is a 5 inch gauge,

AS I look at this model I think that it is unfinished and therefore not tested in any way yet.
