I think the biggest turn off for these types of printer is the clean up and handling of chemicals and then you have to cure the print you have rinsed it down .

A youtube channel called makers muse does a lot of reviews on various printers , not sure if they did one on the printers mentioned above as i don't own one i wasn't looking.

I did watch another video on resin based printers but it was a machine aimed at commercial applications – still pretty interesting to watch and the things this unit could print was astonishing!

Take a look at Gina's blog on 3d printing in Stargazers lounge, fascinating stuff.

I wanted to quote Cyril's post to say that the blog he mentions is restricted to registered users only, but the Quote button doesn't do anything. Is it just my system, or is it a bug?

Edited a few minutes later – the Quote button is now working again.

Quote may not work if your internet connection is temporarily sluggish or lost.

I get this problem occasionally and found it's usually due to my computer being flooded with network resend requests. Using Wireshark to look at what's being sent and received, it seems my Ad Blocking & Anti-tracking measures were destroying parts of tracking requests from Amazon, Google, Facebook, Verisign and others. As the transactions were blocked after an initial contact my computer was getting showers (thousands) of resend requests, the other side assuming failure to respond was temporary.

This may be a bug somewhere in my anti-tracking & ad-blocking software. I've much reduced the problem by even more aggressively blocking tracking requests; now the links inside webpages that start conversations are mostly ignored.

If anyone's interested I have uBlock origin, AdBlock+ and Privacy Badger, none of which on their own block everything, but do a good job together. Bit of a balancing act because I want to see legitimate ads (like the ones on the forum), while ignoring intrusions. Having them operational cleans up web browsing a lot; apart from the privacy problems it's amazing how much crud pops up without them.

Any problem that slows the network down can cause Quote trouble; also noticed it when daughter upgraded her Apple while also streaming Netflix.

Watched 'The Making of Kubo and the Two Strings' today after seeing the (amazing) stop-motion film.

The skills of the puppetr and scenery makers were awsome, from traditional skills like carving and minute stitching to robotics.

One interesting scene showed whole racks of character faces being 3D printed in (apparently) full colour, using a resin based 3D printer.
