They are certainly proud of what they sell.

That proud they want to hang on to whatever it is.

Looking for a decent HSS woodruff cutter today 5/8" x 1/8" BS405 dead standard, nothing special.

RDG does them for about £11

Chronos does them 10 in set for £73, not sure if they do separates ?

Tracy do them for £15 and they buy a lot of stuff from Tap & Die.

Tap & Die Now Only want £123.00 for one and with VAT comes to £147.60

I always thought that gold colour [ which is missing off these was a thin TiN coating, not gold ??

          Blooodyyyy Hell!

You could have one custom ground for a lot less than that.

That's for sure. I only ever bought one order from them. A couple of spot drills and a tap and die. Die was rusty and even the paperwork smelled damp. Filled in their feedback form indicating that I didn't think their product lived up to the not insignificant self-generated hype and never got a reply. Can't imagine why!

I've used them once or twice for items I couldn't find elsewhere John and just accepted that they price for Trade and therefore assume that the VAT is transparent. But their products have been OK and their service generally good.

I used to use another company based in the West Country, ordering by phone. We were down in the area on holiday and I was organised enough to think about visiting them for an ME tap & die set I wanted (hoping for a slightly better price by visiting in person!). It was just after 1 pm (weekday) and the front door was open – so I wandered inside as I could see someone was there. I was promptly told to clear off (in a less than polite manner) as it was his lunchtime and I should come back later. I didn't go back!

Funnily enough, I've not found it necessary to buy from them since then and I also managed to get the ME set elsewhere (for less money) too. Haven't thought about it for some time but "Tap & Die" triggered the memory!

                  Hi

Having looked at the page they are saying against the price 'Now Only' it begs the question as to how much they were before!! John perhaps you buy now and grab yourself a bargain before they sell out at these 'Now Only' prices or there again perhaps not.

                  Cheers

                  Martin

                    John,

Have you tried Drill Service Horley? They do a 5/8 x 1/8 HSS woodruff cutter for £34.39. They do a carbide one for £56.87.

I have used them in the past and they have always been helpful.
