Hi Ega: Not my design, I'm afraid. I did think about it, but don't have welding kit. You can see it at https://www.kmxkarts.co.uk/Recumbent-Trikes/KMX-Sport/KMX-Tornado-F8-Adults-Sports-Trike.aspx. They come in flat packs, and are quite easy to put together (instructions rather better than most flat pack furniture). Got it because a stroke has impaired my balance, so I can't ride a bike.

        Bob,

Ahh … That takes me back to my SchoolDays [circa 1965 I think].

Almost every afternoon I could be found drooling over the [very avant garde] Blue and Silver one in Copes' showroom in Birmingham. … then home to my D1 Bantam blush

            Hi Martin,

the carb inlet is very close to the oil tank cap. I think that all of the Thruxtons were the same. The GP carb fitted to earlier models was just the same.

I think I would rather have the Truxton Velocette. except to the fact I would almost certainly fall off….

Spent the day at our ME Club track where two fellow members and myself planted 320 saplings to form a hedgerow.

The saplings were a mixture of Hawthorn , Hazel , Field Maple , Spindleberry and Crabapple , each being staked and protected with tubing.

It was tiring but satisfying .

It's more of what happened last week when going to an appointment at the Doctors on Saturday for a leg infection.

I just managed to get there after nearly collapsing I certainly jumped the queue and ambulanced to hospital.

Signs of a heart attack when doing an angiograthy they found a severe calcified lesion in an artery and could not put a stent in so had to be sent to Hull Castle Hill Hospital.

It was a form of drilling the calcification and fitting a stent then the following day my Sister took me back home.

Was told I had Angina I have the utmost praise for the care I was given and have sent a favourable report to the C.Q.C. a change from the moaners who should go to private Hospitals we are not at a hotel when ill but there for treatment.

I met patients who had life changing illness going back and forth to Hospital after my admittance we had many laughs with staff and fellow inmates.

We all made the best of our circumstances and they had no self pity one of the patients does work to get genuine homeless back into society a very nice person I was nearly homeless many years ago so feel very strongly for what he tries to do.

I now have angina the privilege to have met some great people both as patients and hospital staff with some lasting happy memories of them all.

Here is a warning that most of you know about but having seen it's effect while in Hospital it was frightening.

A patient that was on my ward and in the same trade as me car body repairs with using two pack paint it had penetrated his skin the hair follicles was a path as well.

The result his immune system was ruined he came in with pneumonia while I was there but he is a regular patient now.

You may find small internal chamfers a problem as it looks to only have about 7deg of front clearance so will start to rub on small dia holes but should be fine if you need any external ones. Same will apply to yours Neilsad

Will limit the diameter I can do, but Michael's appears skewed to have more clearance at the back?

OK, the flat 300 ohm cable, 10 mtrs to reach the fixing point on the wall and back into the kitchen. Blue Bell hill transmitter is line of sight but obscured by trees that affect the signal when wet. Lots of trees here on the top of the North Downs in Kent.

At one time I worked on ariels for particular frequencies and had a GDO to check that they worked at the frequencies specified. Mostly line of sight jobbies encased in resin. Made a big patch board for a certain organisation for listening to clandestines.

                                  Thanks for the thought, Jason

I was only really expecting it to be of use for externals, or for internals on 'big' [yet to be defined] tubes.

Small [again undefined] holes, I tend to chamfer with a countersink cutter.

Frankly; I expect to damage this insert before I exhaust its usefulness blush

… and I doubt if I will find, or afford, a replacement crying 2

I recently watched a TV programme about laying the 1700 mile gas pipe from Norway to the UK. They welded sections as they went and they used a machine that rotated around the pipe to make a chamfer for welding. It used a tool like that as it did the outside and then the inside chamfers. The pipes were approx 1.5 mtrs dia.

Yesterday tested my new design of barrel tuner on the .22 Anschutz.

Michael Gilligan gave me the idea with his article in MEW #235. Thanks Michael, you were correct, 'Blu-Tack' is great for dampening vibrations.

There are 10 shots in that ragged hole and most of the horizontal dispersion is because I was a bit slack in reading my wind flags.

Anyway, for a prototype it's showing potential.

MichaelG, I just read your post about drooling in Cope's – I also used to call in to Cope's on my way home from school, also mid to late 60's! I spent most of my time at the back / left of the showroom, where all the old stuff was kept.

Had my ear bent by Mother on numerous occasions for coming home late, though the Cope's employees never seemed to mind. I remember when a Bond Bug was put on display in the front of the showroom (6th form by now!) and my mate got locked in it – happy days!

Clive, my first job in the offshore industry was as a Stability Engineer on a Semi-Submersible pipe lay barge. We laid the Ekofisk/Emden Pipeline. I only worked on it for about 6 months then moved into the oil well drilling industry where I stayed until recent retirement.

It was amazing watching the welding work on the pipeline itself. There were 8 or nine welding stations along the line and welding at that time was manual, the best paid welders worked on the underside of each joint. As the barge heaved up and down with the waves the pipe, which was held under constant tension used to move up and down along the length of the barge anything up to 3 feet. It was ok for the welders on top of the pipe as they sat on it to carry out their welds but the welders on the bottom of the pipe had to be slid up and down on mechanics trolleys by an assistant. Theyt used to get hell if they didn't get the timing of the pipe movement right.

Probably one of the strangest things posted in this thread.

I took a 3/4 full bottle of Argon, the big 6' high one outside today, cracked the valve open and vented it all to atmosphere.

I reckon about £40 + worth of gas.

Then threw it in the Donald and took it back to Air Products to get a returns note before the start of a fresh month.

This time last year they were charging £15.80 for the rental on two bottles including VAT, since then I have returned one bottle and they currently want £20.81 per month, rent on the remaining bottle.

It didn't take a PhD in maths to work out what it would cost to keep it until empty and then hand it back in.

Now with Gas Direct on even larger bottles for £12.80 [ inc VAT ] per month for both bottles.

Vented the old bottle off as I could not bear the though of giving them something back. angry

It's left a tiny dimple but that should heal with time. Took about 5 mins and was completely painless.

Probably one of the strangest things posted in this thread.

I took a 3/4 full bottle of Argon, the big 6' high one outside today, cracked the valve open and vented it all to atmosphere.

Vented the old bottle off as I could not bear the though of giving them something back. angry

But in one sense you probably did as you saved them the job of emptying it
