Shaking my head at the chutzpah of an Ebay seller.
Ordered a book on Saturday, marked as despatched on Monday, down as deliver by Thursday to Monday (yesterday) – fair enough.
As only coming from a few tens of miles away, on Friday I went back and checked the delivery date, and thought I'd look at the feedback.
Mostly positive feedback, but one or two negative and some very cryptic neutral ones.
What was odd – about a quarter(!) of the positive feedback I read was people saying how good the seller had been at sorting out non-delivery of the goods.
What was even odder was an email later that day asking if I had received the goods AND offering a replacement – before they were due to arrive.
A few more emails over the weekend and one yesterday telling me a replacement had been posted.
Now the really interesting part is they use UKMAIL – their small packet is Royal Mail for the 'last mile' and advertised as taking several days. They also track until it reaches Royal Mail, but the seller did not respond top my query about a tracking number.
I smell something fishy, but as nearly everyone gets their goods in the end I'm not sure what is going on. Are they stockpiling orders then sending out once a fortnight?
It's obvious they are hopeless at posting the goods out on time, but why not be honest about the extended delivery time?
