Yes Ian, re SolidWorks Maker you can output in standard STEP etc., also yes you can import files from full SolidWorks, but it saves as the Maker version.

It seems to have a CAM module.  I did try to get to grips with that today but gave up quickly – think I’ll stick with Fusion and generate g-code from a STEP file.

and Graham and Toby have gone electric well before the 2030 deadline.

After some grandchildren had tried driving the Toby we had coffee and mince pies before returning home. Until next year….. when we will be back on the first Sunday public running at St Katherine’s Priory.

Today I tried to wind some 1.5mm kanthal on a 30x50mm pipe for a furnace I want to make. Unfortunately, the wire behaves like a spring. I think it can only be wrapped around round shapes.

Sonic, have you tried annealing it first?
