I've never seen these used before what are they?

2 are marked as being resistors on board – possibly being what appears to be a single sided board they are cross links or removable test links

Basically they're 0R resistors, used in this instance as links. The black band 'follows 'the standard resistor band coding, black signifying zero.

The resistor type package is probably used so that it can be auto-inserted by machine. A simple wire link couldn't be handled that way and would need hand insertion.

I've never seen ones like that before, 0R SMT resistors yes, but not ceramic package.

Presumably it simplified manual assembly.
