What sort of speed would a watchmaker's lathe run at, and would a sewing m/c motor be powerful enough to drive it ? I believe they run at 8,000 Rpm max and are about 1/12 Hp.

My Pultra 1750 is spec'd at 6000rpm for the standard version and 10600rpm for the high speed version.

I now have the lathe " in my hands " and will need a three step motor pulley, about 1.25" up to 2.062" diameter with 1/4" bore. Before I start to chew up a block of aluminium, anyone know of a supplier of these smaller 3 step pulleys?

Thanks Rod, but the diameters are a bit too small
