I used to get a huge amount of spam, people trying to sell me remedies for overweight, erectile dysfunction, plastic surgery and memory loss, also offering Russian brides, fake Rolexes and the latest fashions. I have never viewed any websites offering these or similar delights, how can they tell I need these things?

On the off-chance that your question is serious … They can't tell; but it's so incredibly cheap to do a big eMail-shot [especially if you are using other people's machines] that it doesn't matter … a 0.001% success rate is lucrative.

Of course, many of these apparent 'offers' are simply a way of getting into your computer. [see above]

Hi Neil, maybe it was just coincidence then. Normally my spam checker catches it all but suddenly a lot is getting through but, rest assured chaps, I never open the messages.
