Post a few photos and some sizes eg number of teeth and overall dia then we can have a stab at the gear profile and size. You are unlikely to get an exact replacement but a stock gear could be modified by altering the bore and thickness.

                .

                John,

I would be very interested to know if that's achieveable with Nylon

The principle is fine, but I think you would need a suitable solvent adhesive [andI don't think I know of one for Nylon] … If it does work; please let us know.

This lot seem to have great faith in their cyanoacrylates for nylon: http://www.cyberbond1.com/adhesive-solutions/nylon-adhesives.aspx

                    Thanks, Neil

                    That looks very promising !!

I haven't read the datasheets yet, but … the typically 'instant' nature of cyanoacrylate adhesives may preclude assembly of a dovetail.

Note: I would be delighted to be wrong on that point.

Looking at the data sheets some have cure times of up to five minute to half strength (straight line).

I would put in a query to them if using it for the application in hand.

                        .

Having just looked again; I am less convinced

… perhaps I latched on too quickly to the "wicking" claim.

I would agree with Neil regarding seeking a specific recommendation for the job at hand.
