        Looking for information on the toothed and v drive belts for a Warco 1022 as missing from the lathe of a recent purchase.

        Part numbers or where to purchase would be appreciated.

            If you still don't have any luck, you could try an enquiry to;

              Not entirely sure that Warco do a lathe designated 1022! That size is their WM250, ie 10" swing 22" between centres. If it is this lathe you need to be specific as to type/year as the drive configuration has changed several times over the years, some with intermediate pulley and others without. There is also a 1022GB lathe by Toolco which has an all belt drive with no variable speed.

                Thanks for the replies, The lathe has never been used and the belts lost by the previous owner. Its v belt and toothed belt drive, not variable inverter controlled.

                I have added an image of what its says on the headstock, Warco 250 x 550A item 1022, maybe this can give the correct identification for procurement of new drive belts.

                  Hi, here's a scan from Warco's 2002 catalogue.

                    Thanks for the catalogue page, that definitely confirms its a Warco 1022 for the early 2000's, hopefully with that information Warco can still supply belts.

                      You can get an idea of the belt size by measuring the width of the groove of the pulleys.

                      To get an idea of the belt section,look at my post at 16:39 on 29-10-21 on the the Chester 920 Cross Slide Backlash thread.

                      At a guess, I would expect the section to be A or Z.

                      You can estimate the belt length by measuring around the drive and driven pulleys, for a particular ratio.

                      This will give you the outside length of the belt, so you will need to decrease that dimension a little, since belts are graded by their INSIDE length.

                      So the belt needed may be designated as A26, signifying an A section belt with an internal length of 26 inches.

                      Having got some figures, go to your local belt / bearing stockist and see what they can offer in toothed Vee belts.

                      Hopefully they will let you take a belt on a Sale or Return basis (unused of course ) to check that you have the correct belt. You need to select the shortest belt that will fit, to allow for any stretch.

                      It would useful, if you report back on what belt you find is suitable, as an aid for anyone else.

                        For the vee belt, you could always measure the width at the top of the vee and fit a link belt that can be made to the required length. Often smoother running. Fenner are one make. What is the toothed belt used for, is it one of those "toothed vee belts" where I think the teeth are put on the inside to make them run over a smaller radius, or is it a timing belt? If the first, then you could again probably use a link belt as they seem more flexible. If it is a timing belt they are widely available but you'd just have to find the right length!
