      Hi guys,

I'm leaving for a 3 day conference in Glasgow on Thursday but will be travelling around Scotland for a few days before going to visit relatives in B'ham area.

Any suggestions around must visit shops or surplus tools events?

I'll be in Kenilworth for much of the time, but Macclesfield is on the list to visit (elderly Aunt to visit). I've got a car.

      Any suggestions would be welcome.

      Thanks

      doug

Axminster tools in Warrington, you will pass by on the M6 as you go south, also Rotagrip in Brum. Have a look at the web sites before you travel. A shame you missed the Harrogate show.

As you're going to Macc. anyway; don't forget Macc Models idea

… Only a small shop, but worth a look.

There is also a decent Scrap Metal man: John Swindells, on Waterside, SK11 7HG, who often has Aluminium Alloys and Stainless Steel. — [but don't buy it all please]

              Thanks guys,

no fear buying anything up. The weight allowances on the airlines is prohibitive!

i had thought of visiting the shop in Macclesfield. They seem pretty focused on steam. I also thought about hemmingway kits.

                Hi Doug,

The Anson Engine Museum **LINK** just up the road from Macclesfield (~6 miles) is well worth a visit, if you like old engines. Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday though.

You could pop in to see me at Chester Machine Tools on your way to Macclesfield, from Birmingham up the A5.

We have all our Hobby machines and a massive range of tooling on display.

Drop me a line if you need any directions etc.

                      All the best,

                      Tony
