a very common query – look at recent posts – basically you are probably running firefox or another browser with some security feature turned on which is not passing on the info re your subscription to the machine that serves up the archives.

Here's the recent thread on 'Bad Referrer' Frances means. Hope it helps.

Hello, not sure if this is the right thread. Why do I have to use Adobe to view most of the back issues of Model Engineers Workshop. I’ve not had any problems in the past.

              thanks,

              Steve.

I find the MEW archive very useful. The early editions have lots of good information. However, I am now receiving messages from Adobe that 'Flash' will be withdrawn from the end of this year. Is there another tool I can use in future to get access? Many thanks.

Reading the links if I've got this correct I will still be able to access digital archive but will lose the very early magazines when windows 10 will close Adobe in December. How many old issues will not be accessible ?

It went over to HTML5 about 2 years ago so that's 25 of the 300 issues of MEW that can still be viewed and about 50 of the 430 issues of ME. unless you find a program to play flash.

I thought that the whole idea of digital was to view passed issues which I done a few years ago when I was working nights. What will happen to these issues if flash is stopped? Pratical Mechanics on Google books can be viewed, I'm finding this rather confusing.

The point of digital is that it saves paper for the current issues and having to store the ones you have paid for. The Archive is rally a Bonus.

For me, as a relative newcomer, it is a very valuable "bonus". It will be a great pity if it is lost.
