      Hello Neil

I am a retired consultant engineer and years ago I built up a steam museum on a derelict Farm . We used to steam ploughing engines (model Fowlerss ) across a sand heap. And one of the exhibits was Harry Lee's steam yachts working with automatic valve taking charge . That was long long ago , but now I am not active and work has diminished , but I still have the remnants of the collection consisting mainly of unfinished potential prize winning exhibits . I would like these to go to good enthusiastic young model engineers to keep the spirit of the interest going into the future . Be pleased if my ad could be contacted by interested parties .

Happy to write more about my former collection , but as I am a bit prolix in my advance old age I promise not to overdo it . Thanks .Harry (I have the advert of the Stuart vintage Twin engin on the for sale section currently )

That is a generous offer Harry I hope you get some takers.

( I have to say that all my projects start off as potential prize winners – but they seem to flounder along the way somehow! I console myself with the thought that the fun is really in the making – and the hope that the next one might make the grade!)

            Hello Again Harry,

I hope you found my reply to your first post.

If you would like to use this topic to tell the stories behind some of your models, please go ahead. There's no shortage of prolixity here so you won't get into trouble!

If you get a personal message from any forum members (who may want more details of models), then you will see a flashing 'envelop' next to your name near the top right corner of the screen.

            Neil

                Hello Roger,

Speaking for myself I would say 78 is a good starting point!

I am also a dry stone waller which gives me some good exercise in the fresh air and tranquil surroundings in the warmer months of the year. I don't do that any more in the winter, it is too much like hard work when the stone is frozen to the ground.

So, pick your way through that

                Regards Brian
