Since this is my first engine build I thought I best start with a relatively simple engine, a stage up from a wobbler. I have modelled up in metric a close copy of a plan labelled "Tall vertical". Since I prefer the plain metal finish and work with CNC I thought I may as well add some intricacy to some of the plainner components. I use a radiused octagonal pattern for some of the other things I make so I applied it to the columns and tapered spokes of the flywheel. I'm not used to working with such small components so some of the small brass components have been interesting to machine, but I thought I would wait to begin uploading photos until I had done one of the more complex components
Having looked at the render for quite a while, I have wondered has anyone used borosilicate/pyrex glass to cover the steam chest? I quite like the idea of being able to see inside when its running, and we use it for the sight glasses on hot pressure vessels at work. I read it can be milled and drilled with diamond and I have a spare 3D printer bed plate.

Will need a bit more polishing but should look nice when assembled
