Got this thing with the Tom Senior i got and decided to make a fly cutter with it.

As you can see its rough and also needs balancing a good bit, for what its worth anyway as will not be spinning much. It was bad though.

Size is 150mm OD cut. 40mm thick mild steel.

Used the vertical slide I got with the lathe aswell. The wheel has a built in taper so did it all in the mill.
First had to make the T slots better though as they were so bas T bolts would not go through so got a T tool and skimmed through just enough to get newly made bolts through.

had to drop the revs down to 450rpm roughly and sparks were fl;ying haha

      first off the side trim

As usual i cocked up on the last bit. snapped the bloody tap on two threads on the clamp bolts. Still works a treat. ill fettle it later as just wanted to try it out.

      Then a test block

I did all first and that was easy so got a plate of 12mm mild steel.

One thing is that if the plate is longer than 145mm then when the cut is near finished then the back end starts to be cut down further. I need to work that

Very happy with the finish. smooth. Maybe should be better but thats my tool grinding to make that better.

So a project done that will rarely be used i bet haha
