Flywheel is 3 1/2 dia. The green sole plate is 7” long but it sits on the longer black bed which Is made of wood and 9” long. Many thanks for the replies having googled No. 8 and Jason’s link I think it fits the description as a Stuart No. 8. I wonder why they didn’t cast the ‘S’ into the steam chest cover?

They have not always had the "S" on the chest, not sure when it was introduced to the range. Or could simply have been a chilled casting and not used on your example.
