hey folks,  somewhere in the past i recall someone describing a way of making miniature tyres.  Can someone help me in either giving me an accurate description or telling me where i can find information on this.  Really they need to be able to withstand the kind of wear that a cycle would handle.  I need to produce two 1.75 X 9.5″ with a specific tread pattern.

Some threads are coming out too wide and being obscured by the ads.  This is one of them.  I thought that this trouble had been cured weeks back.

Yes I’ve got the wide thread problem on this post to, I’m using Firefox under Linux. I would guess the problem is to do with the width of the link posted by russell. In most forums I’ve used you can give a link a shorter text title which would probably help. Example below

              Hi Rob
i stumbled across this site recently, which describes making tyres using silicon. not sure if they meet your requirements, his are much smaller but maybe its a starting point.
              regards

                Hi There
We have not sorted the long link problem.
I normally just shorten the link.
If anyone spots any more long links, please let me know.
                regards David

Thanks for the post guys, I’ve now concluded that manufacturing tyres is not an option.  I have located some tyres which would be suitable but not perfect for what i want them for.  The only issue i have is that they only appear to be available across the pond in the US and all the companies found will not deliver to the UK, one will but they want silly money and being at uni, this is not an option.  Now, is there a kind cousin which would purchase these and ship them to me using the cheapest delivery firm possible and help out a fellow model engineer?

Once it is more complete i will post a link to my construction website to let you fellas what this is all for

                          Cheers all, Rob.

                          Hi Rob

my wife found herself in the same position, a US supplier not willing to consider the existance of a customer outside the border. She found on ebay a number of agents who will purchase and ship on your behalf, for a very small fee.

at work so cant locate the exact seller, let me know if you need more.
