With the twin wobbler type engines, would I be right in thinking that only one of the two cylinders get steam to drive the engine in either forward or reverse. It`s a daft question I know but I somehow had the idea that both cylinders are getting steam and driving together, So if someone could put me out of my misery it would be much appreciated.

No the steam is just passed through the engine in the opposite way so both cylinders are working. It's not one cyl for forward and the other for reverse.
