      Hi

I need some tube 3mm id, 0.5mm wall thickness and 4mm id, 0.5mm wall thickness, an inch or so would be enough. Material, metal, but what is not too important.

Any idea where I get/Buy some?

An off cut from an electronic connector, tube from an aerosol ?

I maybe able to make a do with some solid plastic.

      Thanks

      George

          How critical are your sizes?

5/32" x 24swg tube in brass and copper is readily available but will be about 2.9mm ID try M-machine

K&S and Albion do 4mm OD in various metals but with a 0.45mm wall so 3.1ID

Try a local model shop, Albion Alloys produce pretty much what you're after as telescopic tubing, ie adjacent sizes are a sliding fit in each other. If no local model shop then Chronos list it as do Hobbies or Hobbys. A quick internet search will come up with plenty of stockists.

              Hi

thanks folks. I will try to check them out but since I only need an inch….

I was standing in the kitchen, looked at the radio and thought "Telescopic Antenna", now it's just the sizes. 3mm is critical, 4mm = 3mm + 2*0.5 ( wall thickness) so not vital.

If all else fails find a friend with a lathe, you'll be able to have the exact sizes you need then.

                  Hi

Thanks, but the lathe is not the problem, it's the wall thickness, it wouldn't 3D print either.

What’s the problem with the wall thickness, 0.5mm is 20 thou easy to do on a lathe.

Interested to know if you are using threaded parts on the various joints of the tuned pipe.

Why don't you just get some 4 and 5mm bar and simply drill, o team to size if the bore is critical.

                            George,

Madmike has given you the answer, in my opinion.

You do not state what the tube is for (Another secret mission).

                              Hi

Yep, looks like MadMike has it sorted.

It's for a magnetic catch, I bought the magnets before I decided how to make the holder
