Many moons ago I worked at Bae. They had a clear out in the tool store. You picked what you wanted and made a donation to charity. Well it goes without saying that I, and many like me, snatched up stuff that we would end up never using.

So now I have a couple of items that need new homes.

The next I’m not proud of as it has badly rusted. with the best will in the world it cannot be saved, But the micrometer head is in perfect condition so could very easily be retasked into someone’s project. It’s a metric scale.

Both are in their original wooden cases.

Hi Steve dismantle the setting gauge and put the block in non ogranic patio cleaner that should remove the surface rust and make it usable. Graham.

You could also look up a local model engineering club and see if either they want it or have a member who does.

How tall is the Vernier height gauge?

Working height is 12″ but it also has a metric scale.

It may already be spoken for.

The setting tower is also headed to a new home.

                Thanks for your time gents.

Both items are now in the post to their new homes. I hope they don’t miss each other as they have sat side by side for many years.
