I have just been looking at Toolco’s web site where they offer a new line in Mills.
One of these the VM30 at approx. £850 looks quite interesting. Has anyone seen these machines and has anyone comments about the machine?
        Are they far east origin.

It appears to be the same machine that Warco sells (as WM-18). Busy-Bee in Canada and Grizzly in the US also sell it under their own part-numbers.

The Toolco version says it has an MT2 quill but others sell it in (arguably more useful) MT3 and R8 versions. My Busy-Bee model that I bought 3 years ago came with MT2 at that time but is now sold with R8. (I later bought an upgrade kit for R8).

It is a far east machine. I’ve been very satisfied with mine. The quality isn’t bad (especially compared with my far east mini-lathe) and the size is a decent compromise for me.

Chester do the Champion 20V at £815 and Warco the WM16 at £998, both including VAT. Both look very similar to the Toolco VM30 which is listed on the Toolco website at £930 inc VAT.

The immediate differences as I see it, in addition to the price variations, is that the Warco machine has a 600W motor and weighs in at 103kg, the Toolco also has a 600W motor but weighs 115kg, whereas the Chester has a 1 HP motor or I guess 750W, and weighs 113kg.

So I guess on the basis of price, motor size and weight, at the moment the Chester machine would represent good value.

            Just my thoughts!
