I would like to use the Horizontal drive on my M1 to drive a collet chuck. The horizontal drive shaft  has an internal taper within the drive shaft, does anybody know what the taper is ? It is not MT.

        lathes.co.uk http://www.lathes.co.uk/senior/says of the M1

” The spindle ran in Timken taper roller bearings and was fitted first with a No. 3 Morse taper and then, following the general machine-tool trend, with the superior No. 30 International”
