I had two of these, and a mate hadn't heard of them, so i said they're a bit crude but great for rapid local heating.. and said he could have one . I took a wee 90 amp inverter welder ( weighs nothing , and i wasn't moving the Oxford ! ) with me to show him how it worked . One rod got far hotter than the other , but it worked. When i broke the arc , the one rod was glowing yellow hot . Thinking about it was that because it was a DC welder ?
