Christmas eve and this morning have seen the rear whells completed, some coach bolt heads modified to a mor eeye pleasing size together with some square nuts to suit. Also a few sq headed set screws and teh D pins to keep the wheels on bent from 1/16" welding rod. Live streaming of mens and womens cyclo-cross world cup stopped workshop fun this afternoon.

Might do the woodwork for the cart tomorrow.

Ah, At last I got it to work. I did as instructed re reducing the video size to 450 but it didn't work, however on a hunch I tried it a smaller size and it seems to have done the trick.

Here it is again My adjustable mount for the 4th Axis..

Bob, change your setting on Youtube for the video, you have it set to PRIVATE but need PUBLIC to share with others.

Not as much progress on the R&V cart woodwork as I had hoped. Turns out that the person who started the kit had made the fuel tank from 2" dia tube not 1.625" and as the tank fits into holes drilled through the cross members there would have been very little material left.

I had some 40mm CP brass tube knocking about so decided to make a new tank. Cut the ends off the old one and turned new endcaps from these (new one in foreground)

I also sawed the two bosses out of the tank and remachined them before soldering the lot together, may still redo the knurls on the caps as the originals are a bit rough. Longest job was sanding of the chrome plating.

Well JohnS will be happy to hear that I managed to grind through the armchair welds and get out into the workshop again today although the sparks did damage my slippers a bit.

Drilled the holes in the woodwork which had been clamped up overnight while the glue set and had a trial assembly.

Engine seems to fit OK too

Since then I have shortened the coach bolts and made some coach screws to go in the rear axle brackets and hold the engine to the cart. Still needs a wooden battery box up fromt but that will have to wait for another day as the armchair is getting cold.
