Lathes are Harrison L series, probably L 5 Mk 2 or 3 given the putative dates.

Levers on top of headstock are identifiers. Long clutch lever towards left with two stubby gearchange levers on raised pillars nearer chuck. Also, invisible in this view and too high for the boys to see, is the totally incomprehensible coloured arrow diagram to "help" select spindles speeds by indicating lever movements and positions.
