The Best of Model Engineer Volume 3 Now available

I know this thread is well established but curiosity got me thinking…. and this question is still OT.

Since this is a Model Engineer publication, why is its promotion handled by DC1 rather than Diane?

After all, she is the ME editor.

DC1 edited the magazine. I don't have to promote the magazine as I only got paid to edit it but I give a good service to MyTimeMedia.

I trust there is nothing odd about it, but it seems strange to me that the 'Pre-Order' link shows as 'aimforprofit.com' , but immediately redirects to what seems to be myhobbystore.

I'm just a little concerned – I couldn't log in to order, and the forgotten password feature hasn't resulted in any e-mail to me with new details.

It's a scam for selling links to other web sites.

One of these make $11,000 in a month, buy in at the bottom ideas.

In this case it looks like it's Davids account which then gets passed on to the myhobbystore link.

I've just pressed the 'buy it now button' and nothing happens. Anyone else had a problem ? Knowing me and computers,I'll probably get 50 copies!!

I eventually sorted mine (I hope) by going directly to the MHS site (via advert top right of ME home page) – that way 'add to basket' did work.  Had to search for 'Model Engineer' to find the special.

Reset password still does nothing as far as I can see, but I was allowed to order as a 'Guest'.

Well after a quick flick through I would say if you are not interested in the Lynx or Gauge O loco then there is not much else to justify the outlay. Two short articles about engines that you can get castings for, 3 pages of shaper,just a plan and elevation of the mill engine.

 

But its good to see that the errors dating back to 1959 have NOT been corrected, who else can spot the wrong dimension on the screw riviter Also best check with your boiler inspector before using soft solder on the Bat boiler as most don't like it now.

I got an E-mail Wed 11th saying it's in the post, so here (Switzerland) I guess it'll arrive about Wed of next week latest. It's coming Royal Mail and even has a tracking link on the E-mail if I need to use it – quite impressed (after considerable difficulties with the original purchase via the "Pre Order it now" link here).

Well I ordered mine on line after receiving the email shot saying that the mag was a limited edition, so not wanting to lose out I duly placed an order…..

 

Went to my local WHS the other day to find it there on the shelf before the publication date of the 27th….

 

I'm a bit disappointed that WHS have copies on the shelf and I'm still waiting for mine

Can anyone from the management explain to me how this works?

I ordered on 30th August and still no sign of receiving it. So much for pre-ordering to make sure I get a copy!

Same here Keith. Ordered 30th Aug, myhobbystore says despatched by Royal Mail on 11th Sept. Still not arrived on 21st Sept. So as myhobbystore are based in Kent and I'm in Manchester I reckon that even if the postman is delivering it on foot walking at 3mph for 8 hours a day it should still have arrived today. It brings a whole new meaning to snail mail.
