      Hi David

Would it be possible for you to get the problem on the thread ‘Steel Cylinders’ sorted out.
The text is under the ads again caused no doubt by the long URL links.

Is it not time this problem of URL links was sorted out once and for all? After all its effect rather negates the postings when only half the text can be seen and consquently the meaning or context lost.

I think others have asked before. Is it not time there was a sticky on how to post URLs etc at the beginning of each sub title for those new to the forum to follow?

Hope you are able to fix this soon

      Kind regards – Ramon

Excuse my ignorance, but I can read the posts OK on this one. What exactly is the problem?

            Hi Tony
Have a look at the “Steel for Cylinders” thread
Jen’s post contains some long links which, I understand, causes the problem. Why it does I’m afraid is beyond my pay grade!

              Hi Ramon,

I’ve been recommending a sticky on ‘help notes’ and ‘how to’ for months now.  It seems such a simple thing and can’t understand why it hasn’t been done.

              How about it David?

I have seen the posts re problems with the website.
I use mozilla firefox on XP service pack 2 to browse and post and I’ve never seen the reported problems.
                intriguing.

Hi Guys, and the advertising dept,
While the topic is adverts, may I thank the advertising dept for putting an advert for “Figleaves” at the top of a post a few weeks ago. It was most pleasant to be reminded of how attractive young females can be in their “scanties”.

No problem with “Steel for Cylinders” even at the beginning. “Web designer on holiday until January”, are you having a laugh! get someone who supports their product

                        hi Howard,

This is a common problem on this site when a long url is posted.  I also use the same configuration as yourself as well as when using my MacBook running OS Snow Leopard, and get the problem whenever it occurs. it is a problem with the software used to build the forum and not with individual PCs.

                        Regards

                          though I don’t bother.

                              Lack of time.
I am busy with getting magazines out and the exhibition.
                              regards David.

Oh yes you do, or did.
It was an advert for Figleaves at figleaves.com, I regret to say that I had no knowledge of this site till I saw your head of the page recommendation. Ain’t the ‘net wonderful!
Can you recommend your sales dept. put some more similar sites on as that one stirred happy memories. It made an old man happy, or was that a happy man old?

                                  Hi There
I suggest this may have been a Google ad.
If you confirm it was not, I will take it up with the mangement.
I would not want anyone to be distracted from modelmaking.
                                  regards David

I think mystery is solved and regrettably it only involves Long Johns (not a euphemism). Or as the old jokes goes “winter draws on”.
