Ahhhh, so you wouldn’t use the lathe riser then? 20250423_121659

        Kevian,

Since you are thinking of making your adjusting bolts and nuts, for a finer adjustment, you could make them 1/8 BSP.

These are 28 tpi, (0.907 mm pitch)with an OD of 0.383 (nearly 10 mm) and a core of 0.337 (8.55 mm) they will be more than strong enough to support a hobby lathe such as a Myford 7 or a Boxford. (A mini lathe might need the holes in the feet opening up)

With a 1/10 turn changing the height of that foot by 0.09 mm, (0.0036″) which should be sufficiently delicate, with careful adjustment, for removing twist

If you need the height then just use longer screws through the foot of the lathe and riser block.

Personally my lathe is not jacked or finely leveled. To me it is difficult to twist a lathe into position unless the bolts are set into concrete as with such a light lathe as you try and jack one corner up it will want to lift the other foot of the pair and you just have a lathe that rocks.
