I used a bit of 1.5" galv water pipe for a power cylinder of a hot air motor, got to just on the right bore then ping and the weld let go. I closed it up with a jubilee clip then ran a weld down the outside of the tube, the motor still runs well with a cast iron piston. After welding and boring to size it was honed with a brake cylinder hone, then lapped with a wooden lap.
