They are aftermarket metal tracks, common on a lot of RC models and resin on the smaller 1/35 scale models, both are individual links so sit correctly.

Stub, I was following the Link from JasonB which in the text refers to plastic track from a model German tank and therefore not to scale.
Anyway, luck with your efforts to make scale true links for the proposed track.

The jocky wheel at the top of the bogie is about 8″ dia, and the tire is about 2″ deep.
At the museum i am involved with we use one of those wheels attached to the drive shaft of a 10 hp Lister motor, this is run against the flywheel of the 6HR Ruston Hornsby motor for starting when there is no air in the air start system. The teeth on the tracks would be some where about 2″ high Ian S C

            Clive,

Google found Langly Miniature Metals who look like they could do 300 links for about £120 as a mould plus 15 batches of 20 if I supply a pattern. Good price but still more than I can afford just now.

But that suggests home casting could be the answer, especially as you can just remelt any failures. It’s yeasr since I made fishing weights, but I imagine its a similar process!

I fancy trying silicone moulds. Do you have any suggestions for suppliers of mould material and white metal?

Try Tiranti’s I’ve used them for various resins in the past.

On my expedition into Christchurch today I visited a model shop and found a set of tracks by Tamiya, “Track and Wheel Set”, they also have gears and gear boxes, all plastic. Not sure of the track size, all the writting was in Japanese.
Unfortunately The chap locally to me who owned one (and a Dingo scout car), died and his collection has moved away. Ian S C Oh, his were 12″ to the foot, and fully equiped.
