Hi there, I'm Dave, a complete beginner who has not got a clue about the whole lathe scenario. Always fancied one and recently picked up a Drummond Flatbed in reasonable condition. The internal piece of the tailstock (whatever it is called) appears to be missing. There is also a bit of chuck wobble evident. Any tips or advice of any sort will be gratefully received.

Hi & welcome Dave. Work out how to upload photo's into your album & put some on the page for us to look at. It will help you get some answers that you require.

          Steve.

Hi Dave welcome to the forum. What Drummond lathe do you have as I have an M Type and have a drawing if the tailstock spindle as well as other bits.

Sorry guys, I have tried everything and can't get the pictures to upload for some reason. I normally have no problem posting pics, maybe there is something entirely different about this forum? Been trying for ages and all that happens is the page freezes.

                Hi Dave

Hopefully you have found these instructions in the FAQs section? If you're following those, the only other thing I can think that may cause issues is that the photos are too large?

No, I'm not too good with this stuff anyhow but I just can't seem to get anything at all to work. It is an entirely foreign system to anything that I have ever come across before.

Welcome to the forum Dave. The way photos are managed is different on this forum and there are a few odd limitations, so it's important to forget how other websites do the same job and follow the instructions.

Rob's link above is to the correct thread, but it took me to the last post rather than the first, which is a bit confusing. Neil reveals all on the first page. Photo loading isn't difficult once the method is understood.

                    Hope that helps,

                    Dave
