Surface Grinding Services?

Hi All, I would like to produce a 1/4 BSP thread in brass right up to a shoulder, but my die has the usual lead in on both faces. My lathe requires a non standard changewheel to cut 19 tpi (unobtainium), and the couple of grinding companies I’ve approached aren’t interested in my small job!

I would like 1mm of thickness removing from one face, so that the die can cut tight up. Is there anyone with a surface grinder could do this for me? Happy to post my die.

Post salient dimensions and within 24h, you can have a 3D model that would allow the unobtainium to become obtainium, with no neutron bombardment, and no toxic waste. 3D printing is not quite cold fusion, but close.

You could always cut the shoulder 1mm deeper than required, cut the thread and then sweat on a 1mm thick washer so the thread ends up against the wall.

Can’t you redesign your way out of the problem? A washer springs to mind. Or a very shallow counterbirecwhich in whatever it screws into.
