I always feel if you get good service from a supplier it should be recognised. PM yesterday I realised I needed some special sealant t so I ordered some from arceurotrade. this morning at 8:30 it was in my hands, that can't be bad.

I agree, people are quick to complain, but reluctant to praise excellent service

Sorry, Barry … I couldn't resist that one.

Seriously though … It's rare to see anything but praise for Arc, and Ketan's posts on this forum are [in my opinion] a good indication of his commitment .

I've been a customer of Arceurotrade for several years now, and their service has always been first class. When i have had problems with a machine advice and help is only a phone call away. A great company to deal with.

After a very short time on here its tipped the balance on buying a cheap mini mill from them rather than elsewhere.

They commented on a thread i created about buying a mini-mill.

The way i read it… A very honest answer that a mini mill is pretty crap and its going to take more time and skill to achieve quality work. But a compromise that i must make because i do not have the money/space for a 2 ton monster machine. It needs to be a bench mounted one and cheap!!!

A budget machine at a budget price, similar to my lathe.

Hi Dave, I bought a Sieg Super X3 mill from them a couple of years ago. a budget machine of course and if you are used to an industrial machine it will be a bit frustrating at times not being able to plough through a big cut but I have been very pleased with with so far, excellent reception and assistance from Ketan when I called in to have a look at it.

Yep, i managed to get there today and will be picking up the smaller X2, which should do me, its a useful toy. Although i should make something useful.

He did tempt me with a new machine coming in the 2.7, but as a toy it was a little more than i wanted to spend.

As a plaything i think i have chosen the right size, he went into great detail about what the pros and cons were and everything wrong will be all my fault

I wont sleep now until Tuesday… its nearly Xmas

Another company that gives excellent service is GLR Kennions, they have a well laid out website and delivery is a couple of days.

Not heard of that one, will give them a look.

Looking for a local company for metal supplies, found a few online ones and they appear cheap until the postage is added which can bump it up considerably.

Sometimes they only sell 3m lengths, which bumps the postage up for just one item, but you can usually order a few items with the same postage.

Have re-ordered O-rings and Loctite from Simply Bearings as their service is first class and delivery is free.

Likewise Ringwood metals – a company that is always willing to cut small pieces of metal for me so I do not have to saw large pieces of metal and need only to machine a tiny amount to face off to size.

Have never had anything but satisfactory service from Arc EuroTrade. For many things, their catalogue or website is usually my first port of call. Very fair and helpful with whom to deal.

I used Bearing King and they were SLOW!!! Took almost 2 weeks before i received my items.

Ordered late Monday probably too late to post, but received it not that Saturday but the one after.

Had stuff from China arrive faster than that.

ArcEuro often get good write-ups on the forum but, unfortunately, I must have caught them on a bad day yesterday. I ordered a couple or R8 adapters over the weekend and they arrived on Tuesday so very good service to this point.

I had ordered a B12 adapter to load a 13mm drill chuck onto and an MT2 for general use with MT drills etc. When I loaded them up to the milling machine, the B12 adapter had a runout of about 3.5 thou which was worse than the adapter I received with the machine. I then tested the MT2 adapter and this ran true within half a thou so I recleaned the B12 adapter and tried again but the runout was the same.

At this point I phoned ArcEuro and spoke to a gentleman to whom I explained the problem. Now, I appreciate that this thing only cost six quid or so, but I offered to send it back and, possibly, pay a bit more to have a higher quality one, or one that had been checked in their workshop but was told that they only did the one type and they were all from the same batch so would probably all be the same.

What I found disappointing was that there was no offer to take the part back for a refund (nor did I ask for one), or any offer of an alternative solution, it was really a case of "Sorry, mate, but it's a cheap item and you're stuck with it".

Quite honestly, at six quid I agree it isn't worth messing about over and I wouldn't have accepted a refund anyway but the lack of interest in helping me find a solution means that I am reluctant to return for any further purchases. I appreciate that they don't make the product and I don't expect them to slavishly check all the items they sell but, unfortunately, I feel that their customer services slipped a little yesterday. sad

                                    Hello Steve,

Please accept our apologies for the experience you had yesterday with one of my colleagues. Ian has discussed the conversation with the person concerned and we understand what went wrong. I understand that you didn't ask for a refund and that non was offered in return due to the nature of the call, but your issue did need further discussion, which failed to take place. This is a training issue which has now been dealt with internally.

I understand that the product in question was an R8 x B16 drill chuck arbor. Normally we only check for problems if we get regular complaints for it, otherwise we offer a replacement or refund based on the circumstances. We have sold 36pcs (including yours) from the batch from which your R8xB16 drill chuck arbor was picked. So far, yours is the first piece for which an issue has been raised from this batch. It doesn't mean that anyone is right or wrong in their observation.

I believe that our Ian has called you back this morning to discuss the issue and I understand that you have managed to resolve the issue by yourself in your particular case. Thank you. Had you found it difficult to do so, we would have asked for the arbor to be returned for checking, and we we would have offered you a refund, in this particular case.

Again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

                                    Ketan at ARC.

Hello, Ketan, and thanks for your post. Yes, I did discuss this with Ian this morning – full marks to ArcEuro for phoning me to try and resolve the issue.

Luckily, I own a toolpost grinder and have been able to modify the adapter to suit so, yes, I am sorted in that respect. I could have done that to my original adapter but was too lazy.

What I wrote in my post this morning was genuine, I wouldn't have accepted a refund. For such a low cost item it wouldn't be worth raising the paperwork. My point was that even companies such as yours that have very good reputations can have problems now and again, and we all know that it takes a long time to gain a good reputation but the blink of an eye to lose it!

Following the discussion with Ian I can confirm that I am now happy to remain a customer of ArcEuro. smiley

                                      Regards, Steve
