I have just had appalling service from the parcel delivery company used by one of the major Model Engineering suppliers.
I ordered some parts and the supplier processed the order quickly and notified me the order had been completed and shipped. That was 9th August. By the 14th I had received nothing and I was getting concerned. I emailed the supplier who responded quickly to tell me the the parcel delivery company had made 2 attempts to deliver the package on the 10th and 11th (I was sitting eating my breakfast at the time the second attempt was supposed to have happened).
I used the link supplied to visit the web site of the parcel delivery firm and that only showed the first attempted delivery. It also only offered the option of redelivery the next day when I was due to be out. I chose the option of Leave With Neighbour. When I got home the parcel was on the doorstep. Now I could have been on holiday or away for days. The instruction was clear on the label.
I will not use this supplier again if I can avoid it. Not because of their service but because of the performance of their subcontractor.
I have told them this whole sorry tail and I hope they deal with the parcel company – it may be a badly performing driver or their general in ineptness but if they don't sort it out they will both be out of business when there are people like Polly, GLR, Blackgates and Toolstation out there who all give excellent service right to my door.
Is this in line with others experience?
