Does anyone other than me have a problem with limited access downloads?  I wanted the complete set for Boxhill, but note that sections 11 to 21 are subscriber only.
I don’t subscribe to ME, only because I support my local village shop / post office along with lots of other residents. OK ,it costs me more, but applying the “use it or lose it” logic matters to me. I am a bit miffed therefore, to be penalised in access to those downloads I would otherwise be able to access.
      Grump over.

          Hi There

At last – a man after my own heart!
          I made
the same point in a previous thread –  Model Engineer 4366 – but my
comments fell on deaf ears. There seemed to be an opinion that  the
local shop was a branch of W H Smith or some other large chain. In fact ,
like you, our local shop is an independent, keeps a huge range of
papers & mags plus cards, sweets, photo processing etc.  Always
helpful and provides  cheerful comment . You are quite right – if we
don’t use these shops they WILL disappear and I for  one am prepared to
pay a bit extra to support them.  I can’t see that allowing access to
downloads would cost ME anything – surely they still get income from my
buying a copy in the shop.

Maybe I should change my ID to Grumpy Git 2 ?

            Hi

Everything is geared to buying subscriptions, free gifts, free downloads etc. Business is business and magazines have to sell to survive.

Can ME & MEW print a voucher in the magazine that can be exchanged for Internet access even for a limited period? Or maybe the newsagent could issue a voucher for those with a regular order? Surly some scheme can be arranged.

             >>

I do subscribe only because I work overseas most of the time, once I am back home full time I will be supporting my local newsagent, he a local lad running a business that brings community to the local area. I miss the people I used to meet when collecting my magazine

              Hi Grumpy Git,
Like you and the others that have posted here I live in a small village and support my shop/newagent by ordering my copies of ME and MEW from them. I would like access to the subscriber content and would be willing to pay a premium for this service so come on editor lets move on this issue which I am sure would gain a lot of support from people like us.
