        Hi all

        If you have a Chipmaster can you let me know

        what size thread is on the stud that holds the

        splash guard on please

          The cover plate that is secured by the stud is also secured by three additional countersunk allen screws. Remove one of them and measure it.

          If that is too difficult, look up the part number for the countersunk screw in the manual and it will tell you the thread.

          UN thread countersunk fasteners generally have an 82 degree countersink angle.

            Hi it’s not on the cover plate it holds the

            rear splash guard this is the only bolt that

            secures it

            it screws into back of headstock the part number is 1228

            but it does not say what thread it is

                Look in the manual at the page headed 'headstock; gears & shafts. Find 1151 end plate. It has four holes in it. Adjacent is 1192 Plate screw, called out as 3 No. (wrongly depicted as a cap head screw). The splash guard stud goes in the fourth hole in 1151.

                Download the French version of the Chipmaster manual. On the page 'La poupee ensemble mechanique', it is part 20, securing part 19 with three of standard part 46-216 accompanying it. The index of standard parts in the pack of that manual tells you what 46-216 is.
