      Hi

Does anyone know where I can buy some steering chain for my Durham & North Yorkshire engine in 2 in scale. I have tried Blackgates, and they said they have tried to find some, and have had no luck. All they can find is the unwelded link chain. Can anyone help me please.

      Thanks
      Garry

Usually have to buy unwelded chain and silver solder up the links, even the scale 2" chain that MJ Engineering used to be able to get from a retired chainmakes still had to be soldered.

Homebase of all places sell small braised link chain. I picked some up last year for my 2" Fowler.

I think this is the chain:

              Thanks for info.

I have just bought some welded 2 mm stainless steel chain from a company called S3i group, and the cost was £1.44 per meter. smiley

So this info might be of use to other people.

Hi Garry, Many thanks for the contact for steering chain. I used the Blackgates chain some years ago and managed to strain the links open on a few occasions. Admittedly I hadn't soldered the links. This 316 stainless should prove to be more up to the job when running on rough ground !! Again many thanks. Cheers, Jim.
