whats a good starter book for building basic engines?

always wanted to build replica of steam powered workshop but thought it would be to complicated.

finally bit bullet last week and joined local steam engine club, whilst being shown around they had one apart and got good look suprisingly simple compared to what i thought it would be.

so determined to get something built in next 2yrs.

Try Tubal Cain's books "Building Simple Model Steam Engines Books 1 & 2". The author gives lots of hints on how to build his engines, including how to build one without a lathe!

They may be available in the library.
