i recently made a model of my southbend 9 inch shaper. I stripped my shaper down and measured all the parts involved , worked out a scale which I think was 1/5 and got to work. The model was made without using any castings a was made mainly from pieces of 1/8 “ plate welded together and scrap metal machined up to suit.
Hi Brian I machined the tee slots using a modified 5 mm end mill. I milled a ordinary slot first and the used an end mill that I necked with a Dremel grinder to only cut on the end and give the tee shape.
The engine is my Durham and North Yorkshire in 2 inch scale and is a work in progress
I must admit I'd not thought to make a T-slot cutter in that way, but come to think of it, I'm pretty sure there's one among my cutters-from-goodness-knows-where.
We look forwards to progress on the engine.
