I need a small tension spring for a job I am doing for a friend. All the big suppliers seem to have minimum order charges of £10 upwards and I only need one (at the moment?). Anybody know where I can get one of known spec without having to tak out a second mortgage?

Old petrol lawnmowers at the local tip are a useful thing. Usually a few on the carburettor.

give us some details, I can't be alone I having a box of assorted sprigs I've take off photocopiers etc
