Yes that is Barry Jordan's work. I met him at Harrogate area years ago and he was very kind about one of my efforts at making a model machine tool. I asked him how he went about making such wonderful miniatures and he said it was more like sculpture than exact copy engineering. Having tried to follow his lead I understand totally what he meant. He's an amazingly gifted man.. Mick

                Unmistakeably Barry Jordan's.

I read the thread title and thought 'small Bridgeport' that's like a big Unimat…

Many years ago possibly late 1970s I saw a feature about an American man who had built a model of a Bridgeport.

From what I remember his workmate who used a Bridgeport in the same company was off on long term sick leave and the model builder was allowed to use his machine. Barry Jordan seems a little more prolific in output.

I think that one is his big Bridgeport at 1/5 scale, the earlier photo is the 1/14 scale version.

Truly remarkable models and well worth a close look if you ever get the chance.

What a gifted creator and craftsman

Perhaps MEW may consider some sort of "hall of fame" for such engineering artiststhumbs up

Thank you for the info Nick.
