      @nigelegi

      This is my own design, it gets parts built, gets put on the shelf, I build some more, it goes back on the shelf. At the moment it's on the shelf as something else has priority, but I thought I would talk through building it up and the design.

      Hopefully this might inspire others to have a go at designing and making an engine.

          Looks good, so far.

          I’m wondering about lubrication as you appear to be using sealed bearings.

          Also, how fast do you expect it to rev? Presumably not very fast as I suspect an atmospheric valve will be a limiting factor?

            Thanks.

            There will be oil in the crankcase – small amount. The front bearing is similar to what you would see on a commercial glow plug engine. The rear bearing is a bit odd in size due to the location of the gear on the crankshaft. I might yet remove the bearing shield from one side.

            I'm not expecting it to rev very fast. At the moment I would be happy with a tickover.

              Should be good for at least 3000rpm, Engines I have made with atmospheric inlet have given performance figures for those sort of revs
