Single Chamfer Full Nuts

Supplier Required.

I’m after some unplated mild steel B.S.F. full nuts with single chamfer in sizes 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″ and 1/2″. Does anyone know of a supplier as most firms I’ve contacted only supply double chamfer nuts.

Double chamfer is to stop the untrained from putting the nut on upside down. Some of the material suppliers have standard hex sizes, easy to make yer own.

Try EKP all their smaller nuts are singel chamfer and looking at the pics in their paper catalogue the BSF look the same, but they only go upto 3/8″

A lot of nuts these days are washer faced, I don’t suppose you’d put one of those on upside down! Ian S C

Thanks for the responses so far. Unfortunately EKP cannot help me. I need large quantities of the nuts therefore making my own is not a viable option.

A source of single chamfer nuts still required!

OK, serious answer. If you check on either the interweb or a trade directory and search for “Bolt and Nut Manufacturers” you will probably unearth someone who is able to supply to your requirements, BUT, no whinging about the “Excessive” costs involved.

I’ve spent literally hours trawling the internet to find suppliers and cannot locate anyone who stocks them any more at any price. Before having a large batch munufactured I thought I’d try this forum for leads,

Howard,  Had a quick look round for you. You say you require large numbers so perhaps these people could help.

 

 

 

This page specifies Full nuts to BS spec machined. On other pages they quote forged so they should be single sided.

Wasn’t suggesting a stockist Howard as you already know hens teeth are easier to find, no, it means a manufacturer or DIY.

  Problem with Thinning a double chamfered nut is the finished thickness David. I remember (???) the single chamfers, but that’s LOTS of years ago.

Wasn’t having a pop at you Ray, but this is a constant re-occuring problem and I would have thought the web designers would have sorted it out by now without David having to dive in every time.

 

  They seem to make sure the ads. work ok.

No offence taken circlip. Just trying to help. I do aggree with you, some of these addy’s do get a bit long. I’ve seen the way it is now after David changed it. Wish I new how to do it.
